Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions so you can feel fully prepared.

  • I recommend booking as soon as you know you’d like a session, especially for weekends or peak seasons. Most clients book anywhere from 4-8 weeks in advance to ensure availability.

If you’re working with a shorter timeline, feel free to reach out anyways — I’ll always do my best to accommodate when possible.

  • Fill out my contact form and tell me a little about what you’re looking for. I’ll get back to you with availability, package details, and next steps so we can lock in your session.

  • I’m based in Sweet Home, OR, but I love traveling for sessions. Travel within 30 miles is included, and anything beyond that may include a travel fee.

If you have a specific place in mind, feel free to reach out — I’m always open to new locations and will let you know what travel would look like.

  • Neutral, earthy tones photograph beautifully and keep the focus on your family — not your outfits. Think creams, tans, soft browns, muted greens, denim, or light grays.

    • Coordinate colors, don’t match exactly

    • Avoid bold logos, graphics, or neon colors

    • Mix textures for visual interest (knits, denim, linen)

    • Comfortable clothes = natural movement and real smiles

  • Almost everyone says this — and it’s completely normal. You don’t need to know how to pose or what to do. I’ll guide you the entire time with natural prompts and movement so nothing feels stiff or forced.

  • If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we’ll reschedule at no extra cost. I keep a close eye on the forecast and will be in touch if we need to adjust plans.

  • Absolutely! You’re welcome to bring a friend or parent along for support. They can help with outfits, hype you up, and make the session feel more comfortable and fun.

I may ask them to step aside for certain moments so we can keep the focus on you, but they’re always welcome to stay nearby.

  • Yes, you’ll receive a gallery from your session that includes downloads, prints, and other items available for purchase.

Booking Policies

What to expect when booking with me

Clear communication makes for the best experience. These policies help protect both you and my work so we can focus on creating photos you love.

Booking & Payment

To officially reserve your date and time, a non-refundable retainer is required along with a signed contract . The remaining balance is due prior to or on the day of your session. Sessions are not considered booked until both are recieved.

Turnaround Time

Final edited galleries are delivered within 2-3 weeks unless otherwise stated. Rush delivery is available as an add-on when scheduling and is subject to availability.

Image Delivery & Storage

Galleries are delivered via an online gallery where you can download, share, and order prints. Galleries remain available for download for up to 6 months. It is the clients’ responsibility to download and back up their images, so I recommend downloading and backing up your images as soon as they’re delivered.

Weather & Outdoor Session

Outdoor sessions are weather-dependent, especially for hiking and adventure sessions. In the case of unsafe or unfavorable weather conditions, sessions may be rescheduled at the photographers discretion.

Usage Rights

Clients receive personal usage rights to their images for personal, non-commercial use. The photographer retains the copyright and may use images for portfolio, website, and promotional purposes unless otherwise requested in writing. Your memories may inspire others to step into their own stories.

Cancellations & Rescheduling

I know life happens, and flexibility matters. Sessions may be rescheduled with at least 48 hours’ notice. The retainer is non-refundable but may be transferred to a new date one time. No-shows or last-minute cancellations may result in forfeiting the retainer.

Location & Travel

Sessions include travel within 30 miles of Sweet Home, Oregon. Additional travel fees may apply outside the radius. Any location permits or fees required for the session are the responsibility of the client unless otherwise arranged.

Participants & Cooperation

A successful session is a shared effort. I’ll guide you through poses and prompts, but cooperation from all participants helps create the most genuine, joyful images. For larger groups and families, arriving on time and ready helps us make the most of our time together.

Liability & Safety

Photography sessions — especially outdoor and adventure sessions — may involve uneven terrain, movement, or natural elements. By booking, clients acknowledge and accept responsibility for their own safety and well-being during the session. I take care in guiding sessions, but I cannot be held responsible for accidents or injuries.

These policies are here to create clarity and peace of mind for both of us. My heart behind this work is to create meaningful images hat feel true to you — moments you’ll look back on with gratitude.
